on

We have invited Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and State Senator Liz Krueger to speak at a Press Conference at 11:30 AM in front of the Ross Berrie Center of NY Presbyterian Hospital where we will honor several businesses for their commitment to breastfeeding.
Then we will “Take the ‘A’ Train” from 168th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue to the BABE Annual World Breastfeeding Fair at Restoration Plaza in Brooklyn (1368 Fulton Street – between NY and Brooklyn Avenues) – subway stop on the “A” train is Nostrand Avenue
Invite your friends and family.
Breastfeeding families, their partners,
babies, children and all breastfeeding
advocates are encouraged to particpate.
Our goal is to have dozens of moms and babies breastfeeding
on the subway … in our Subway Caravan …
to promote and support breastfeeding … and
to let everyone know that
women can breastfeed any place in NYS that
they and their baby are allowed to be.
We always get good “press” coverage … so wear a happy smile.
And bring placards with wonderful breastfeeding messages!
We have two key meeting places:
Ø Manhattan/Bronx: Leaving from 168th and St. Nicholas Avenue (by the Ross Berrie Center of NY Presbyterian Hospital). We will board the “A” Train at 12 noon!

NYC Breastfeeding Leadership Council
The New York City Breastfeeding Leadership Council (NYCBLC) is an organization that brings together representatives of local organizations involved in breastfeeding promotion. The NYCBLC was formed in 2003, and works to:
* Collaborate in efforts to increase breastfeeding initiation and duration rates;
* Identify the need and gaps in breastfeeding initiatives;
* Plan public education strategies;
* Provide training for breastfeeding professionals; and
* Share information on current breastfeeding projects
